Louisiana State Foods

 Louisiana food include Gumbo, Étouffée, Jambalaya, Muffuletta, Po'boy, and Red Beans and RiceSeafood is especially popular in Louisiana either as an ingredient or as a main dish such as Shrimp, Crayfish, Crabs, Oysters and Catfish. These are just a few of Louisiana's food. 

Louisiana State Crawfish

Crayfish are crustaceans that are also known as crawdads, crawfish, and freshwater lobsters; they are closely related to lobsters, crabs, and shrimp. There are about 150 crayfish species in North America, and over 540 species worldwide. Crayfish live in streams, rivers, swamps, ponds, and other freshwater habitats. Most crayfish are strictly aquatic but some live in semi-aquatic environments. The semi-aquatic crayfish burrow into the soil to get to water.

Louisiana State Flower

The magnolia blossom was designated the state flower of Louisiana in 1900. The southern magnolia  is a medium size hardwood tree that grows in the southest USA.  The large, fragrant white flowers and leathery evergreen leaves make the magnolia tree popular around the world as an ornamental.


The Louisiana State Dog


 The Catahoula leopard dog was designated the official state dog of Louisiana in 1979. Catahoula leopard dogs are bred to find livestock in any terrain - swamps, canyons, forests, or mountains - largest and most aggressive of the cattle dogs, they can handle wild cattle and hogs in the roughest country. Leopard dogs are the only native domesticated North American breed of dog - developed by Indians and early settlers.

Introduction

Hey, I am Kinslee and I am making this blog for my computer class for school. I  go to school at UAC and  I am 13 years old. I am really excited to be making this blog about Louisiana.I have made previous blogs about many different things and have really enjoyed making them.
